More of a downer than Leigh's other works (although I haven't seen all of them), but the performances were very good. Broadbent was great as usual but the women, especially Ruth Sheen and Lesley Manville are the real stars.
Shame neither could muster enough support for the Oscar nod and really Manville should have stuck in supporting.
