Review of Licorice Pizza (2021) by Navybean — 09 Jan 2022

I f'n hated this movie. After "There Will Be Blood" and "The Master," PTA is officially off any list of directors whose movies I have to see. The leads of this film are charmless. The whole "hustler" character by Hoffman never comes across as convincing.

I am guessing this is one of those loosely scripted films where the director tells the actors to just "go for it." They do. And they fail in scene after scene. The Brad Cooper character is so overacted and doesn't ring true.

Michael Thomas Higgins? WTF. Huge plot holes. Great cast. Awful. Awful movie. Sean Penn was fun for a bit.
