I did like this however it's not going to be everybody's cup of tea. The dialogue is very conversational and I might even suggest that it tries too hard to be as dull and domestic as possible. I'm not sure people do actually talk this way, no one I know does.
Despite this there are complex characters in Another Year, none more so than Mary who does grate at times but that's the point. This is a solid, although not as great as some critics seem to think, slice of life drama comedy.
