Review of Another Year (2010) by Brandon V — 06 Jun 2014
Excellent performances make this slice of life drama (with some humor) of a happy couple and their friends/family over the course of a year. Film is completely stolen by Lesley Manville's amazing performance as the wife's co-worker/friend who is a divorced, lonely middle-aged woman who drinks too much and desperate for love and affection.
There's not a story really here. It's much more like a character study and examination of relationships and very moving and sad at times.
