"Life is not always kind"...could also have been the perfect title for this touching movie. Tom and Gerri (they have to live with it :)) form a lovely couple that enjoys life together. The movie depicts their life during one year and their interactions with the ones around them (family/colleagues/friends).
Nothing extraordinary happens during this year but all little elements are very well put into perspective. It is a sensitive movie which gives an inside view on the relations between people. Very well interpreted by the actors and impressive performance by Lesley Manville"s.
It is not a comedy nor a drama, but unhappy moments are compensated by some nice humour.
