Review of Another Woman (1988) by Donald W — 28 May 2017

Honestly..... a SEVERELY UNAPPRECIATED drama from Woody and surprising to even to myself it's my personal favourite of ALL Woody's films - The journey of the character on focus here is executed with such a mature yet simple honesty you can't help to be drawn in, the overheard thearpy sessions adds a great angle for reflection and the performances are great as always.
Whereas in other films woody seemed to be imitating his idol Bergman this was the one where he completely made it his own with his own voice and really makes it an intimate yet thoughtful drama - Hackman is great here showing a different side and like every great movie woody has done it ends on a very sweet and thoughtful note.
This is honestly just a suttle masterpiece of honest character driven drama that might not appeal to all but we absolutely LOVE it and even after a 10yr gap from last watching it still holds up 100% in 2017.
This one deserves more awareness and am glad to see if finally go a blu ray release earlier this year!
