What a waste. great creature effects, but the rest of the film is a two-hour nap.
Bad dialogue. shallow, emotionally dead characters. lots of blatant exposition.
(and no, you can't rationalize this film by comparing it to tarkovsky's solaris.).
Great book, but skip the movie. two stars.
