Not just an action/adventure/sci-fi movie. This explores the effects of exposure to the unknown and doesn't wrap it up neatly or give us pat answers. Hard to describe without dropping spoilers, and spoilers wouldn't help anyone understand the movie better anyway.
May need to be seen more than once to be understood - and even that may not make things clearer. Definitely worth the ride, though.
