Review of Anne of the Thousand Days (1969) by Annie K — 22 Mar 2008
I watched this movie in 1970 and it was memorable. Richard Burton was as per normal great, but I remember Genevieve the most. I have never since seen anyone play Anne Boleyn better than her. She gave the character a human quality that history likes to distort. Those that say the movie was boring do not understand the story or they are trying to compare it with movies that have more updated special effects..

In fact when I saw ELIZABETH, I thought it would have been great to lead with scenes from "Anne of a thousand days" to give the viewers some history on Elizabeth. .
