This and the entire trilogy are among the most charming and inspired novel adaptations I've ever seen. Megan Follows brings an endearing naivete and spunkiness to Anne, and Richard Farnsworth and Coleen Dewhurst are superb choices for her foster parents.
The cinematography and music soaringly capture the quiet country charm of the setting and story.
