Review of Animal Crackers (1930) by Simon T — 20 Sep 2016
I've never got the Marx Brothers: they're clever, fast, multi-talented - and they just don't make me laugh. The reason Laurel and Hardy remain as funny as eighty years ago is a lot to do with their fundamental humanity.
With Groucho, Chico & Harpo you always feel they're parading their skills and soliciting admiration. Anyway, this is the one with the stolen painting and Groucho as Capt Spaulding.
