Famously reviewed as a â??Bridget Jones' Diary for juniorsâ??, this coming-of-age movie has the excellent Georgia Groome in the lead role (one very different from the one she played in London to Brighton).

I was totally smitten by Gurinder Chadha's â??Bend it like Beckhamâ?? but this, although sometimes quite funny, didnâ??t totally work for me. To be generous, this may be because, just like BJD, some of it is just deliberately cringe-making, and at the end of the day, my ability to empathise with teenage girls may not be one of my stronger characteristics.
