Grab a tissue. A very well acted but sad and tragic movie. It centers around the aftermath of the accidental death of 3 yr old Nate. Nate is being raised by his young father (Ethan) clearly the better of the 2 parents.

On a snowy day in the Rockies, Ethan leaves Nate asleep in his carseat, locked in the heated car to track deer.. When he returns 10 to 20 mins later, Nate is missing. After a search he is found frozen.

Ethan is devastated as is the whole town. A prosecuter decides to press charges against Ethan in the accidental death. As the story unfolds you see Ethan struggling to go on and find out that Nate's mother Cindy is an alcoholic that really had very little to do in Nate's life (the gift that Cindy's mother sent for Nate's 3rd birthday was discovered still in the package in Cindy's closet , she has to ask others questions about what Nate was like, etc).

My heart was clearly with Ethan but had very little compassion for Cindy as it seemed Nate's death was yet another excuse to drink. On his court date Ethan decides no punishment with the law will be justice for his negligence and he drives out to the spot where the accident happened with a rifle and you hear a gunshot.

I think this movie also is sending out a very important message: never ever leave a child in the car seat not even for a second, they might be smarter than you think and know how to get out of the seat and the car!!!!
