Review of Angel Face (1953) by Eric R — 04 Aug 2009
Otto Preminger must believe that woman are manipulative, sinister, emotional individuals with that can't be trusted. Either way, no one really made better films about femme fatales. Robert Mitchum is awesome in this film as usual; just cool as ice.
Jean Simmons does a good job as well, being stone cold at moments and getting the audience to actually feel sorry for her at times. The best scene being the tragic car crash, killing bother her parents, and she stares blankly ahead while playing the piano.
Awesome stuff. Great ending.
