Review of Angel Eyes (2001) by Dave A — 11 Aug 2015
This is a really good story about loss and coping with grief. James Caviezel is the mysterious Catch. He is drawn to Jennifer Lopez's Sharon Pogue, even saving her life. He won't talk much about his past, until one date he picks up a trumpet in a jazz club.
The club owner recognizes him. Lopez hears his real name and everything is revealed. There is an unfortunate storyline involving Lopez's family which is supposed to add dimension to her character.
It just makes the film feel like a Lifetime movie. It's great that it is set in Chicago, with Lopez as a Chicago cop. That alone makes the film worth watching.
