It owes more than a little to 'Wings of Desire', but it was still feisty enough to keep me entertained. I even choked up and felt cheesy at the end. And in response to a previous review... the chain-smoking prostitute angle is precisely what kept the movie from wading into a Christian moralistic swamp.
It reminded me of Angel Sanctuary - keeping its [divine] characters human by giving them flaws.
