Review of And Then There Were None (1945) by Ryan Gibbons — 17 Jun 2010
A very interesting adaptation of one of my favorite stories, I can see now that the inspiration for the brilliant game adaptation came from this movie and now I have a strong urge to play it this is just an awesome story from one of the greatest storytellers the world has ever known.
Even though at times the movie really has the corny 1940's feel it really picks itself up well. I was impressed with the actors they were very well cast especially the very talented and very beautiful June Duprez, Louis Hayward is also quite good as Lombard and Walter Huston as well.
One thing I did not like about this film was the complete miscast of Richard Haydn as Rogers it wasn't his fault but the part was just a bit stereotypical. The story does not have any pacing problems and moves quite smoothly the production and directing is also quite impressive.
This movie is a very impressive and enthralling adaptation.
