Jimmy Stewart is a small town lawyer who defends Ben Gazzara, who murders a man who rapes his wife, Lee Remick at her sexiest. George C. Scott is most memorable as the prosecuting attorney. Eve Arden is Stewart's faithful secretary.
A great courtroom drama, full of flair and cleverness, directed by Otto Preminger. The great Stewart should have won the oscar for this role (and many others) but only got one.
