Review of An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) by Brent M — 19 Jan 2009
Richard Gere does an outstanding job playing a loner trying to make it in the Navy as a pilot. Louis Gossett jr is also great as the tough drill sergeant, who knows that he must break Gere's character of his loner ways and teach him how to be a part of a team.
This movie has romance mixed with navy training. The romance parts were done fairly well, but at times I found myself wishing to see more of Gossett Jr and less of the romance.
