Review of An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) by Jack O — 02 May 2018
An Officer and a Gentleman is a drama film I really, really like, that is to say if you love Full Metal Jacket. Why did I say that? Well, because with the passion it's similar than I thought it would be.
Like the drill instructor like Gunnery Sergeant Harrtman from Full Metal Jacket and now you have Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley. Zack Mayo (which Foley calls him Mayonnaise) who is a United States Navy Aviation Officer Candidate who is beginning his training at Aviation Officer Candidate School.
Richard Gere and Debra Winger have good chemistry together on screen. Now let me get to the ones I didn't know about the film and that is one thing, The song in it is called "Up Where We Belong" and it's sung by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes.
And I gotta say, I really love it and it's beautiful as f£$k. There are alot of songs that I really love from Joe Cocker. One is "You Can Leave Your Hat On" which that Tom Jones does his version.
I really like "Unchain My Heart" even though the lyrics at times are a little goofy. And it's such a shame that he died. I actually enjoyed An Officer and a Gentleman, I think it's a wonderful romantic drama film.
Most of the time I enjoyed Louis Gossett Jr's performance, he really give an outstanding performance as a drill sergeant like I do with R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket. I just enjoyed his moments.
Both of which are similar such as not to eyeballing the drill sergeant and he will know every move everyone makes. Now that's always something that makes people laugh. The story is beautiful and has the power of character, courage and guts.
Ever than that, An Officer and a Gentleman is some kind of love that something that lifts us up where we belong.
