I've seen 5 films of Ozu so far, and four of them are great. Including this one. Every actor is outstanding, I loved every scene involving "The Gourd." It is so beautifully framed and shot.
Ryu is one of the great actors of any time. I loved the costumes also, actually showing the western influence in Japan, unlike his previous films.
