Review of An American Tail (1986) by Dann M — 07 Feb 2014
From Steven Spielberg and Don Bluth comes the animated classic An American Tail. Brilliantly written as a turn of the century period piece about a family of mice that immigrate to America, the film does an excellent job at using the New York City setting to thematically represent the American Dream.
Additionally, the musical numbers are charming and whimsical; featuring the hit single "Somewhere Out There." The animation is also extraordinarily well-done, with rich texture and fluid motion.
A wonderful family film, An American Tail has an inspirational message for all ages.
