Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Amelia L — 07 Aug 2008
Pluses: Oscar Levant; the ballet at the end; the reverse tracking shot away from a sad Gene Kelly at the black and white party.
Minuses: the boring story; the paucity of dance numbers in the earlier part of the film.
Nowhere near as witty as Singin' in the Rain or On The Town, there's still much to enjoy here.
