Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Kim C — 04 May 2009
Well, I was thinking I really liked it until about the last twenty minutes or so. That had to be the longest and most irrelevant dance sequence ever. The dance bit would've been better if a) the music had actually gone with the dancing or vice, b) there'd be singing or c) it'd been about fifteen minutes shorter.
And then she didn't even explain what happened with Henri! I give the rest of the movie a solid 4 but hr last 20 minutes a 1, so it averages to a light 3. And Gene Kelly is smokin'!
