A well made depiction of the actual torture of Sylvia Likens, played here excellently by Page. Who is taken in by the horrid Keener. This is the most disturbing film that I have seen in a long while. Gerturde, and her clan, has possiably earned a place in the books, as one of the sickest families in American/film history, and deserved everything that they recieved from this tragedy.

Even though they don't show everything that Sylvia had went through, they still manage to show enough to make you cringe, and disturbed. The film perfectly captures the shocking brutallity of not only the ones in the house hold, but also the ones in the nieghborhood as well.

I also found it kind of creepy that Page even looks almost exactly like the real life character that she is portraying here. Very well done, but hard to watch. This is probably the only movie version of the case that you'll find, that is this well told though.
