A well acted dark slice of real American gothic horror. Catherine Keener brilliantly underplays her character's decent into madness. Page is most disappointing in her almost blithe interpretation of such a tortured soul.
The times when we are reminded of just how cruel children can be to other children is taken to a whole other horrific level when an adult actually encourages it to happen. All the supporting cast is wonderful.
Recommended. Don't listen to the critics on this one.
