Review of An Affair to Remember (1957) by Scott S — 13 Sep 2009
An Affair to Remember (1957) -- [6.5] -- For a love story, this one is downright tolerable. When in a romantic pairing, Cary Grant is only as good as his leading lady, so I should probably give Deborah Kerr most of the credit.
Together, they keep things from getting too dreadfully serious. It would have been nice if the last half of the movie had a dash of comedy like the first. I could have done without the goofy children's chorus, too.
Cathleen Nesbitt puts in a memorable turn as charming Grandmother Janou.
