Review of An Affair to Remember (1957) by Anastasia B — 12 May 2011
Based more on star power than any other artistic achievement in direction, or scriptwriting, 'an affair to remember' is a hand kerchief spender made to watch on long nights that turn well into morning.
Nominated for an Oscar for best music score, among other things (luckily it was not the recipient) it's a film that has been shamelessly copied again and again later on. It's one of those films that set the standards for the romance genre, and today, it feels too formulaic for our sake.
