Review of Amy (2015) by Brandon W — 23 Dec 2015
For quite some time, I actually did want to watch a documentary movie called Amy, despite the fact that I knew nothing about Amy Winehouse, and I wasn't even a fan of her, heck, I never even heard of her before until I saw the Internet news about her death.
So in that case, Amy is a fascinating documentary that got me feeling sympathy for Amy Winehouse. Since this is a 2 hour film, it goes from starting her singing career, to her death while taking its time with some great and shocking detail.
It has some footages of Amy Winehouse in the past years, and you can tell that she can have fun, she's funny, and singing is what she wants to do, and not to become famous. It pretty much just shows that she's a regular human being like us, until the celebrity takes over her.
The movie shows that she's trying to get rid of her addiction, and try to deal with the paparazzi as much as she can, but after some years of dealing with it, some people can't take it anymore.
We never did know what she was going through, but with this documentary, we start to understand what she went through and we would start to feel very sad that this even happened to her. So with that end note, Amy is a fantastic documentary film that is for Amy Winehouse fans, and also to non fans who knows how much of a difference that she made to the music genre and stand out from it.
