Review of Amy (2015) by Manale P — 24 Mar 2016
Amy Winehouse had a remarkable singing voice and a tragic life, but this overly-long documentary of her life needed serious editing to reduce the number and length of the visually jarring hand-held home-movie shots that collectively added little.
My favorite scenes were the recording session she did with Tony Bennett -- his kindness and graciousness to her in the face of her nervousness at performing with one of her jazz idols.
