Review of Amour (2012) by Edward C — 09 Jun 2013
Michael Haneke's French/Austrian Oscar-winning "Amour" was one film hard to watch. And even tougher to stomach because weeks after watching in flight to Europe, the impact still hit my conscience and linger in mind with pain.
As a woman in her 80s slowly succumbed to her weak condition after a stroke, her caring husband had to also suffer the psychology and depression constantly fallen upon. What you are seeing not only shows what people do for love, but also what they would do in desperation.
You do not weep watching such cold factual drama during its course, but you may be mentally shaking in fear of reaching your breaking point in life and upon death.
