Review of American Sniper (2014) by Kyle M — 02 Oct 2015
Clint Eastwood decided to tell the story of a war hero in a more filmic approach than staying utterly accurate to the text, while the tribute was faithfully fashioned. But the handling from his direction proves to capture the atmosphere really well that draws us in to see what the hero felt, including the horrors and effects of war. Bradley Cooper's strong performance of the hero created an energy that seems to match the hero's, which is quite an occasion for any actor to achieve in a biopic. Overall, it's powered like all war films with the performances and direction capturing it all really well for us to experience. (B+).
