Review of Amélie (2001) by Donnie Ray S — 03 May 2014
A character like Amelie is a character that you can't help fall in love with. She likes noticing little things in old films, skipping rocks, and eating strawberries off her fingers. Amelie who grew up in isolation, now as an adult is surrounded by people but still is a very shy and lonely person.
To give her life joy she indirectly helps better the lives of people around her. But when it comes to her own life, she is too shy to take risks, and change her for the better. The film was such a fast paced, beautiful, quirky piece of art that left me smiling.
