Review of Alphaville (1965) by Deena R — 24 Mar 2009
I've always been a fan of the French New Wave and have seen most of Godard's work. I recently saw this one for the first time. It was a little too pretentious for my tastes, with a disjointed and ridiculous storyline.
However, it is visually stunning and the whole concept of a sci-fi film noir, entirely shot on location in Paris is impressive, to say the least.
