Imagine if "The Prisoner" were made by Frenchmen. It ain't pretty. While the movie's incoherent, surreal second half is really rather good (the bit about the hotel bibles is perfect) the ship is sunk by an excessively self conscious conclusion that 'love conquers all' - with a bit of help from a Walther PPK, naturally.
