Review of Allegiant (2016) by Juls Xd H — 30 Nov 2016
A satisfying conclusion to the Divergent trilogy. It is the conclusion right?
I like the chemistry between Tris and Four. Just enough action to keep me entertained.
One of the concepts here is genetic purity. Apparently the "pure" are a perfect blend of traits, while the "damaged" are skewed one way or another, a blend of personality traits considered to be less than optimal by the elite humans living the good life in Providence.
There is room in the story for further development, if one wanted to keep going with it. It would be interesting maybe to see more of Providence and find out how they plan to rejuvenate the scorched world. Do the people of Chicago eventually unite and go outside the wall to explore the world? And what of the children in the wastelands who are stolen from their parents and brainwashed? It sounds like more needs to be done to fully resolve the untied strings.
