Allegiant is a dull entry in the Divergent franchise. I thought the first two were just serviceable, but this one is just plain bad. The film stars such talented actors like Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Jeff Daniels, and Naomi Watts.
They are wasted in this generic young-adult film. The script is very bad. The dialogue is very poor. The action is very generic. Nothing special happens. The film follows the usual young-adult cliches.
Nothing original happens in the film. Also, the final book in the series is split into two films, like The Hunger Games and Harry Potter. This was a mistake. The film feels slow and boring at times. Overall, the film isn't horrendous.
The cast is good, and the plot is serviceable. But the film is slow and follows the usual young-adult cliches.
