Review of All the King's Men (2006) by Gaspar O — 25 Sep 2009
Besides Sean Penn's great performance as politician Willie Stark, this movie was just really boring with horrible performances from the rest of the cast. The story is a good one but with this movie it was just poorly executed.
Steve Zaillian (whos screen writing includes Gangs of New York, Hannibal and American Gangster, just to name a few) is a brilliant writer but is not that good when it comes to directing. If you are just looking to see Sean Penn do another great performance than see this movie, otherwise I would not recommend this movie to anybody.
Thumbs up for Sean Penn, huge thumbs down for the movie.
