Roy Scheider (and Peter Sellers, too) was cheated out of the Best Actor Oscar by Dustin Hoffman in the woefully average 'Kramer vs Kramer'. But this is Scheider's best ever performance matched to Bob Fosse's surreally magnificent cinematic descent into madness.
