Review of All About Steve (2009) by Camille K — 10 Aug 2011
*fart noise* While the message of this film may be one that needs to be said elsewhere, the movie loses the viewer's interest nearly immediately. The film gets so dull, in fact, that it took me two sittings of about 2/3 and then 1/3 to get through it.
By then, any character development, interesting dialogue, or even witty remarks had left my memory. This is one of the worst acted, worst directed, and worst written stories ever because it tries to teach a moral that requires the viewer to engage with the character.
This is normally fine, but the writing of the film makes the main character so intentionally awkward and unlikable that the viewer really doesn't care. Most of the hate on this film comes form the fact that Sandra Bullock did amazingly well in The Blind Side, but that does not excuse the crap that this movie is despite its somewhat deep, meaningful, and important moral.
Awkward and brain killing, this movie really is one to miss. If you ever find yourself having to watch it, you must be in a Turkish prison.
