Review of All About Eve (1950) by David F — 13 Jan 2010
The classic Hollywood bitchfest just gets better every time I watch it. Joseph L. Mankiewicz's screenplay is probably the best written for the screen, as Baxter's conniving and back-stabbing Eve conspires to replace her idol, the neurotically insecure Margo Channing (Davis).
A smart, funny and sharp satire of the need for fame. Everyone's great, especially George Sanders, dripping with venom as both Eve's champion and her downfall.
