Review of Alien Resurrection (1997) by Thomas S — 01 May 2015

Whilst providing some a fun entertainment element, and delivered with the Joss Whedon's quirky sensibility, the movie fails on various other levels, not least by betraying the audience's relation to, and understanding of, Ripley.

Some of the performances seem forced and the aliens are surprisingly underwhelming in their menace. It's a shame, because you can see the idea here, trying to move the story in an interesting direction, but it is, in the end, a failure.
