Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Dennis T — 22 Dec 2017
First of all, I love the first two Alien movies...enough to have seen them all. My simple mind wanted Prometheus to be just more of the same....Alien ruthlessly taking down a ship full of people. What's better than that.
Well, long story short-this branches off into creation ideas (fine) and in the end gives us a new monster and god in it's own right. I had to watch it a second time to really appreciate the real horror angle, and I'm glad I did, as it made me appreciate the movie much more.
U have to look past some seriously stupid decisions by the crew AGAIN. That just seems like lazy storytelling. Taking your helmet off in a strange world, etc etc etc. All I can say is that in the end, this is a quirky movie with a true horror ending--which is filmed wonderfully.
Yep, the people are stupid wankers...but this movie stayed in my mind. Give it a couple of views. I want more of this franchise.
