Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Cyclopsian — 22 May 2017
While I Hated Prometheus, I really enjoyed this movie. The movie looks amazing which is typical of Scott films. It's nice to see a group of characters that aren't complete idiots like its predecessor.
Fassbender was awesome in his dual role of David and Walter and I was really surprised by Danny McBride I went into the film not really expecting much from him but he shone in a serious role and hope to see him do more. Waterson holds her own on screen and I found her likeable enough as the tough female lead we see in Alien films. I particularly liked Carmen Ejogo's character of Karine and was disappointed that her role wasn't larger. Overall I think this was a solid entry into the Alien franchise and i'm hopeful for the future of the series.
