What a classic! Watching this brings back so many memories as a kid watching all those "disaster" films. And to think, this film alone would have earned the equivalent of $1.2B today in the movie theatre.

I never realized that while this film turned out three sequels (Airport '75, Airport '77 and The Concorde...Airport '79) and starred George Kennedy in all of them.

So many big named actors in this - the first lady of theatre Helen Hayes, a red-haired Jacqueline Bissett, Gary Collins, Christopher Lloyd(!), Marion Ross, Maureen Stapleton and of course The King of Cool himself, Dean Martin.

Definitely worth seeing, if not just for the fact of seeing smoking and knitting needles on a plane!
