Review of Airport 2013 (2014) by Shane D — 29 Nov 2010
As with pretty much all of these disaster films, a bunch of mid-level and past their prime stars get together as an unlikely series of coincidental events lead to a mid-air calamity. The various performances, like Dean Martin as the pilot and Burt Lancaster as the man on the ground are great fun.
Though I think the standout performance is George Kennedy as the expert mechanic. Plenty of unnecessary melodrama and character background pads out the first hour, but that's to be expected with this sort of thing.
