Review of Agora (2009) by Jenniffer N — 10 Dec 2010
I felt like they made this movie in Hollywood studios with a bunch of actors dressed the part. The story was not the accurate story that I know of, which is of Hypatia, the opinionated, pagan philosopher who so happen to be a female during a time of the beginning of Christianity, where atheism was more then a sin.
It was a death sentence. The movie lacked sooo much and focused too much onthe barbaric Christians of that time as well as the slave who serviced Hypatia, instead of focusing more on why Hypatia was respected in a time where women had no business being a part of a man's world of Christianity and philosophy.
