Haven't seen the first two, but that doesn't seem to be necessary. Three stories, somehow connected, tell us about three different couples of different ages: 'youth', 'maturity' and 'the beyond'.
They are no ordinary couples and that's what makes it different from other 'kaleidoscop' movies like "Real love". And the striptease performed by DeNiro ('the beyond' story) is genuinely touching.
