Review of After Earth (2013) by Landon M — 01 Sep 2015
I think I finally found it. I finally found the most boring movie ever made. I mean seriously, HOW BORING CAN A MOVIE BE?!! This movie is a poorly-acted, poorly-written, and poorly directed mess of slow pacing and stupid CGI/green screen chaos.
Will Smith tries his best, as does Jaden, but both feel flat and uninteresting. The writing is forced and fake, and the effects are cheap. It moves at the pace of a snail crossing the Golden Gate Bridge with a cinder block tied to it's shell.
The movie starts out OK, with a decent score and cinematography, but it devolves into a boring, awkward CGI-fest that I couldn't stand watching. By the time it hit it's abrupt ending, I was just glad it was over.
The Last Airbender is worse and way more insulting, but this takes the cake for the most unwatchable Shyamalan movie. 1.5/10.
