Review of After Earth (2013) by Lemon D — 11 Jun 2018
This film was FAR WORSE than the fair chance I gave it. Will Smith, as a previous fan of your comedic acting, please heed the following advice (that others likely support): SEND JADEN TO UNIVERSITY OR TRADE SCHOOL.
Let him figure out what he's able to contribute to the world. Just because you have a son, doesn't mean he should be an actor...especially via nepotism. There are many noble professions; actors simply portray the "real players" in life, as a form of entertainment for the masses.
And THIS was not even quality entertainment for $130 MILLION (USD). That is seriously sickening and should be a sobering wake up call to any intelligent person. For M. Night Shyamalan: this unjust investment into another one of your "fingers crossed" productions, as the dwindling number of your eternally optimistic fans hope to witness a rekindling of "The Sixth Sense" magic that is nearly two DECADES too overdue.
..is a tough pill to swallow over and over when a smartly filmed $2 million indie film is likely to capture more talent, story, and magic than this turd. Now pass the Humble Pie to the Smiths.
